Australian Government Budget 21/22: Artificial Intelligence Investment

The Australian Government 2021-22 budget is supporting AI with a $124.1m investment over 6 yrs. This investment includes $53.8m to create a National AI Centre within CSIRO’s Data61 (over 4 yrs); $33.7m to support businesses to partner with Gov to pilot AI projects (over 4 yrs); $24.7m in an AI graduate program to train 234 AI specialists (over 6 yrs); & $12m to catalyse AI opportunities in the regions by co-funding 36 grants to develop AI solutions that address regional problems (over 5 yrs).
