AI Survey: Mapping AI Capability in New Zealand

Over the past year, AiLab have been working with a team of Bachelor of Computer & Information Sciences (BCIS) students at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) to design & develop an online tool that maps Artificial Intelligence capability across New Zealand. The research project identifies companies, institutions & projects using AI-based tools & techniques. Australia Human Rights & Technology Final Report 2021

Check out the new 'Human Rights & Technology Final Report 2021, by the Australian Human Rights Commission. Some of the excellent key messages include: A National Strategy will help Australia harness the benefits of new technology & address the risks; The creation of an AI Safety Commissioner; Introduce legislation that regulates use of facial recognition & bio-metric tech; Introduce legislation to require a HRIA be undertaken before dept/agency uses an AI-informed decision-making system. Artificial Intelligence for Decision Making Initiative (Round 2)

Applications are open for the AI for Decision Making Initiative – a collaborative project between the Office of National Intelligence & the Defence Science and Technology Group. Individuals are invited to apply their skill & expertise to solve one of 10 AI and ML research & development related challenges, in areas of significant importance to the Australian defence & national security community.
