Australia’s leading robotics experts coming to Adelaide

Adelaide, South Australia: Wednesday 4th September 2019

A world-class ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics’ event is taking place on the 12th September 2019 in Adelaide. Proudly presented by SA-based AiLab AiLab (Artificial Intelligence Laboratory), the sold-out event features two of the six women currently “rocking” the world of robotics in Australia [Inside Robotics, March 2019]. Dr. Sue Keay is Research Director of Data61’s Cyber Physical Systems in Queensland and Victoria-based Nicci Rossouw is CEO and Founder of Exaptec – an award-winning company designing and delivering state-of-the-art robots.

By sensing and adapting to surroundings, AI-equipped robots can navigate through complex environments and even learn new tasks. The AI and Robotics event will explore recent advancements in the integration of AI into robots to demonstrate the growing capabilities of both technologies for use in business and social environments.

Co-sponsored by AiLab, the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML) at the University of Adelaide and City of Adelaide, AiLab are able to bring the best of the best to the Science Exchange in the heart of Adelaide CBD. Event MC, AIi Anderson, is the Outreach Program Manager at the AIML and highlighted the importance of the AI and Robotics event: “AI, robots and automation are changing the future of work and the face of education. It’s important that local companies and the wider community get to hear from experts in the field.

Event organisers AiLab, are passionate about connecting and helping community, industry, government and academia both locally and across the globe with navigating and learning about the field of AI via their world-wide workshops, research, resources and events. Co-founders of AiLab, Dr. John Flackett and Emma Berry are also the founders of the largest AI meetup group in South Australia. With over 800 members, the Adelaide Artificial Intelligence (Adelaide AI) group holds regular AI community events.
